just released version 2.9 of the TSD RENTAL.NET Management Software. The
enhancements to TSD RENTAL.NET include a new link to the Unit Availability table
directly from the Quote, Reservation or Open Agreement screens. A new method of
pricing and managing pre-paid fuel costs and a location-specific setting, which will
automatically place vehicles in the "needs cleaning" status during the return
process, add to the functionality of this web-based car rental software.

The Unit Availability table provides a dashboard look at the status of all units.
This table is now easily accessible during any stage of the rental process. A
question mark icon has been added to the Quote, Reservation, and Open Agreement
screens and directly links to this table. On the table, the counter agent can
quickly see the status of every vehicle in their fleet. At the top, a box indicates
the number of units available to rent. This will help users forecast their
availability at the time the rental is quoted, and since availability is linked to
the rate management table, the rental can be priced according to demand. The table
also highlights those vehicles committed to reservations as well as those on rent.

Recent news indicates new standards are being set by rental car companies as to what
really constitutes a full tank of gas at return. Although the gauge may read full,
in reality the tank could contain 3-4 gallons below full. To avoid the frustration
of renters being charged to top off the tank, prepaid fuel can be offered at a
competitive rate. The software also takes into account vehicle exchanges. Although
the renter will only see fuel charges on the original unit, a running calculator is
keeping track of pre paid fuel on all units in the background. In addition, the
software calculates fuel taxes for accurate accounting.

A default check box on the Location Table, allows users to automatically set
vehicles as needing cleaning. This default ensures that the counter agent must clear
the "Needs Cleaning" flag in order to rent the vehicle. This default also allows
the cleaning status to show up on the Unit Look Up Page. A "Y" indicates the vehicle
has in fact be cleaned and is ready to rent.
